Come join us for a bi-weekly discussion group to talk about all things comics.
There’s no knowledge of comics needed because we all have more than enough opinions to make up for it. We welcome all fans of comics or graphic novels!
Got a comic, artwork, storyline, or just general comment you’d like to share? Bring it along and leave your hang-ups at the door. We’re a laid-back, humorous, no pressure kind of group.
Feel free to bring any comic or graphic novel that’s a favorite of yours to discuss.
I’m very interested in the new superhero titles coming soon from Boom Studios. I wonder if they will be in a shared universe and if so, is it the same universe as Boom’s current superhero titles, Irredeemable and Incorruptible. We’ll see.
Sunday, August 29th 1:00pm at La Taza Coffee House.
Let’s get together and proudly read some comics in public, talk about what we’ve read and just hang out for a bit. All participants will have their name entered into a drawing for a $25 gift certificate from Comic Break.com! If you can’t join us, send us a pic of you reading comics in public and you will still be entered into the drawing. Send pics to Comic Break.
About Read Comics in Public Day:
This is the first annual Read Comics in Public Day created by the editors at The Daily Cross Hatch blog to help promote acceptance of comics and comics readership.
Comics are now widely accepted as a legitimate and vibrant art form—so why do so many still feel a bit embarrassed to let strangers know about their passion?
The concept is fairly simple: we’re asking that everyone take an hour or two out of their day on August 28th (also the birthday of Jack “King” Kirby, incidentally) to read a comic book in a public setting.
Be proud. If someone asks what you’re reading, say, “a comic book”. Heck, lend them a book, if you’ve got an extra—what better way to make a new friend and convert a new reader?
